Powerful Protection, Hassle-Free Application

When it comes to flea and tick control, we understand that convenience is key. That’s why the Sergeant’s GUARDIAN® Flea & Tick Collar for Cats is incredibly easy to use. Simply follow these steps for maximum effectiveness:

  1. Do not open the package until you’re ready to use the collar.
  2. Ensure that children do not play with the collar. It’s for your cat’s use only.
  3. Apply the collar around your cat’s neck, making sure it fits snugly but not too tight.
  4. Watch as the collar starts working immediately, killing fleas, ticks, and flea eggs and larvae.
  5. Within a few days, the collar’s protection against tougher ticks will be fully established.
  6. For continuous protection, we recommend replacing the collar every 7 months under normal conditions.
  7. Don’t worry about wetting the collar—it won’t impair its effectiveness or your pet’s protection. Your cat can even wear it in the rain!
  8. And here’s the best part: you can use the Sergeant’s GUARDIAN® Flea & Tick Collar for Cats alongside a regular collar.

Safety Precautions for You and Your Cat

We prioritize the safety of both humans and animals. Here are some essential precautions to keep in mind:

  • Hazards to Humans: Please exercise caution. This collar should not be opened until you’re ready to use it. Avoid letting children play with the collar. It can be harmful if swallowed or absorbed through the skin and may cause moderate eye irritation. Remember to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling the collar.
  • Hazards to Domestic Animals: The Sergeant’s GUARDIAN® Flea & Tick Collar for Cats is not suitable for kittens under 12 weeks and weighing less than 5 lbs. If your cat is debilitated, aged, pregnant, medicated, or nursing, it’s crucial to consult a veterinarian before using this product. Pregnant or nursing cats should not have their collars replaced until the kittens are at least 12 weeks old. Sensitivities may occur after using any pesticide products for cats. If your cat experiences irritation, simply loosen the collar. If the irritation continues, remove the collar and give your cat a gentle bath with mild soap and plenty of water. Please avoid using this collar on your cat within 30 days before or after treatment with cholinesterase inhibiting drugs, pesticides, or chemicals. However, you can immediately replace flea and tick collars with new ones.
  • First Aid: In case of ingestion, contact a poison control center or doctor immediately. If the person is conscious and able to swallow, have them sip a glass of water. Do not induce vomiting without guidance from a poison control center or doctor. If the collar comes into contact with the skin or clothing, remove the contaminated clothing and rinse the skin thoroughly with water for 15-20 minutes. Seek medical advice if necessary. For eye exposure, rinse the affected eye gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes and continue rinsing. Contact a poison control center or doctor for further assistance. When seeking medical treatment, remember to bring the product container or label with you. In the event of an emergency, you can also reach out to us at 1-800-781-4738 for medical treatment information. Note that this product contains tetrachlorvinphos, which is a cholinesterase inhibitor. If any cholinergic symptoms appear in your cat, such as salivation, miosis, incoordination, muscle fasciculation and/or weakness, vomiting, or diarrhea, atropine is an effective antidote. In certain cases, 2-PAM may be used as an adjunct to atropine.
  • Storage and Disposal: To ensure optimal product quality, we recommend storing the collar in a cool and dry place inaccessible to children and pets. Avoid refrigeration or direct sunlight. Once the collar has served its purpose, please dispose of it in the trash. Do not reuse the container or the used collar.
