Dress Up Your Dog with Crochet Accessories

Do you love to pamper your furry friend? Are you looking for a unique way to celebrate their birthday or any special occasion? Look no further! We have the perfect solution for you – crochet collar and headband sets for dogs!

Introducing Karen’s Kollars – the ultimate accessory to make your dog stand out from the pack. Our Golden Retriever, Lucy, was the inspiration behind these adorable creations. Not only are they a great way to dress up your pup, but they also make fantastic photo props for any celebration.

Creating these accessories is a breeze, even for beginners. We’ve designed the pattern to be easily adjustable for any size dog. Plus, the headband can be worn in two ways – either as a stylish headband or as a collar. If your dog isn’t a fan of headwear, simply convert it into a collar for a chic look.

But that’s not all! At Karen’s Kollars, we pride ourselves on offering unique and creative designs. In addition to the crochet collar and headband sets, we’ve also crafted a variety of other items, including a pink bandana, a Halloween bandana, and a festive Christmas scarf for Lucy. And for those looking to add a personal touch, our crochet heart paw print applique can be used to embellish any pet item.

Crochet Dog Collar and Headband Pattern

Ready to get your hands busy? We’ve got you covered! Our pattern for these adorable crochet accessories is available as a print-friendly PDF file on our Etsy shop. You can also add it to your Ravelry library for easy access or pin it to your Pinterest boards for future reference.

To bring these designs to life, you’ll need some essential materials. We recommend using medium weight #4 yarn in colors like red and yellow. Our personal favorites are the Caron One Pound Yarn in mango and Red Heart Super Saver in cherry red. For the perfect finish, don’t forget a crochet hook size H/8 (5mm) and a button.

Let’s dive into the instructions and bring your dog’s style to the next level!

  • Using yellow yarn, create a chain of 6 stitches.
  • In the second chain from the hook, single crochet, and continue single crocheting in the next four chains.
  • Now, work in the back loop only (BLO). Chain one and single crochet in each stitch across.
  • Repeat the previous step until you reach the desired size of the headband.
  • To complete the headband, join the ends either by slip stitching or using a tapestry needle.

Voila! Your dog’s stylish headband is ready to wow everyone.

Flower – make 2

  • Make a magic ring using yellow yarn.
  • In the magic ring, single crochet 10 times and join by slip stitching to the first single crochet.
  • Fasten off.
  • Join red yarn to the first stitch of the previous round.
  • Chain 4, work 3 treble crochets in the same stitch, chain 4, slip stitch in the same stitch, skip the next stitch, slip stitch in the next one.
  • Repeat the previous step four more times to create a total of five petals.
  • Fasten off.

Now you have two beautiful flowers to adorn the headband and collar.

  • Using yellow yarn, create a chain of 8 stitches.
  • Single crochet in the second chain and continue single crocheting in the following six chains.
  • Work in the back loop only (BLO). Chain one and single crochet in each stitch across.
  • Repeat the previous step until the collar reaches the desired size.
  • At the end of the last row, do not turn but work along the long edge.
  • Chain one and single crochet across the edge, one stitch per row (62 single crochets in our case).
  • Chain three, work two double crochets in the first stitch, and three double crochets in each stitch across until the last stitch.
  • In the last stitch, work two double crochets, chain three, and slip stitch in the same stitch to create a button loop.
  • Continue working along the short side, slip stitching in the next two stitches, chaining six for the button loop, skipping three stitches, and slip stitching in the next stitch.
  • Fasten off.
  • Join red yarn to the first chain three of the previous row, chain one, and single crochet in each stitch across.
  • Fasten off.

Once your collar is complete, attach the flowers, making sure to secure them tightly. Don’t forget to sew on the button for that perfect finishing touch.
